No matter what your experience level is when it comes to hiking, you can never trust yourself enough to be adequately prepared against the elements. You may have your route planned in advanced, constantly checking the weather forecasts, and do everything right.. but sometimes things go wrong. At just $25, you'll thank your past self for throwing this emergency radio in your pack should you ever find yourself in a sticky situation.
With a compact size of 5" x 3" x 1.2", light weight yet rugged design and small frame, this emergency radio takes up no space in your pack and for those us that like to count our ounces in gear, you won't have to worry about adding unnecessary weight with this radio
One of my favorite features about this Midland emergency radio is the integrated LED High/Lo Beam Flashlight with a SOS strobe. If I'm ever in a situation where I find myself stranded and my headlamp dead, I know I can rely on the built-in flashlight to guide my way. Or worse case, I know I can stand behind the SOS strobe feature to signal an overhead chopper or faraway hiker if I find myself in distress.
